The Resistancers of Lokos are being led by their leader Modi Xufol through the icy passage. Meanwhile, Modi is further encouraged by the fleeting being with her amber eyes.

Strengthened by his friends, his beliefs, his faith and his connection to that fleeing being, Modi awakens forces within himself that he did not know about. With the help of his newly acquired inner eye, through which he sees more than the others, he guides his companions further, after which they eventually reach the climber's roost.

Through these experiences, Modi finally sharers with his friends that he has contact with the fleeting being, and that he learns new skills, such as the inner eye.

After this relative rest, they enter the climber's roost carefully, but are soon startled by the horrible restless spirit and its undead climbers. They win the battle using the Book of Lux, only Para is hit by a nasty, black stuff. Fortunately, the heroes can take some deserved rest in the climber's roost.

At Inn Ponsoon, Ristato and Vlad are already getting up again, leaving for the Salt Marsh, in search of the saltwater man. After a meeting with an apparently wild sludgerdile, they end up in the old house of faith, where they meet the owner of the sludgerdile, the water magician Quints, also known as the saltwater man. And he has a lot of surprises in store for the two friends before sending them on their way to the Absconditrum.
