After the brutal battle with the bickbearels, after defeating Para, the restless spirit for the present Restiancers and their new friends.
The true story is revealed: the restless spirit is Vlad DeDune's cursed ancestor, Grandmaster Olav DeDune. He could only be freed from his curse by a descendant of his, a DeDune. Vlad did so, to a complete surprise for his new friends.
The Grandmaster tells Vlad that he was indeed a former member of the Syndicate and points him to his family's amulet.
To make matters worse, Toai now finally transforms in a bickbearel totally, before the eyes of his astonished friends and takes Toai, as a bickbearel, the poor Para under his arms, to disappear into the caverns of the bottom of the Absconditrum. Despite the fact that there are now two new friends, Ristato and Vlad, among the Resistance, they have to do without their good friends Para and Toai . A hard blow.
But the tired warriors must now rest and catch their breath. And get to know each other, because they have a lot to tell.
They learn that Modi possibly the reborn Emperor, and that there were forces and influences in Geapa who have been acting upon this for centuries.
Meanwhile, the Night of the Rebellion goes down in history, as the Tenebris army has secured the line between the Weatherlight and the reserve base. They are now preparing for the siege of the Decadomum, which is now, equipped with emergency armor, surrounded by countless Undergrounders and their civilian militias of un-citizens. That is not easy for the army to get through.
In the Poison Puddles, Shante and Doctor Hotan have successfully connected the four clone sarcophagi. While Doctor Hotan worries about how to steal the ray cannons (Angus's black coach), Shante stays behind with the clone sarcophagi, which according to Doctor Hotan have an incorrect annotation of time, namely that one of the clones is already 90% ready. That shouldn't be possible...
