After extinguishing the fire in the grove, it is clear that there are gatekeepers missing from the ranks and that they probably used the grove as a diversion. Korul Xufol, the Chief Guard and Council Member, creates the Delegation of Lokos Korul himself, two corps of gatekeepers, three Council Members of Lokos: Jacques ‘Jack Fishhook’ Hameçon, manager of the harbour, Fer de Frappé, son and apprentice of the master blacksmith and fellow Council Member Marto de Frappé and Toke Pat, owner of the Lokosian Inn Little Ferry. With the Delegation he will track down his two children Modi and Cali, and their friends Para, Eep and Toai . Those pesky, elusive dissidents, aka the Resistancers of Lokos. And who knows what more!
The newly appointed patrol guard Pyotr Yina, who replaced Eep Loc will patrol with two gatekeeper’s goldos outside of Lokos , to support Korul and his Delagation, who will who go on quest on foot.
The assembled Syndicate, Regent Teros ‘the Bookkeeper’ Scuto Rubro, Elise Cecidit Petra, Bokoran Densis Virgultis, Dronov Auctoritas Tenebris, Annis Ligare II, Numma Magnatis, Gebo Lopulus, Pontem Aponte, Doctor Hotan Accipitris and Shante Wiberi have listened to Teros’s argument. Whether the Detective will actually come, no one knows, but the Syndicate is curious enough to agree to summon the Detective after a vote.
By means of a document dug up by Pontem Aponte, the Detective's last application document from 500 years ago, they seal their fate by signing this document. The application document disappears into the Top Chamber Safe, and the Top Chamber Safe Key goes into the safe in Pontem Aponte's house. Despite the Syndicate reaching an agreement on this, they are already almost at odds with each other.
Vidia goes out for a refreshing jog and is then, to her dismay, drugged and kidnapped, while general Dronov Auctoritas Tenebris Bokoran forces Densis Virgultis to work for him, whatever that may mean.
